Open Mic 05/17/12

     I played at Biagio's 277 Park Ave., Worcester.  I performed 3 Johhny cash tunes;  I still miss someone, Cry, Cry, Cry , Long Black Veil.  I also played  Take these Chains from Heart, I don't care if tomorrow never comes (both by Hank Williams), The Crystal Ship, Have you ever seen the Rain, and rounded it out with The Stones' Dead Flowers.  I've been playing Bill McCarthy's Open Mic Nights for about a year now. Bill  manages  open mic nights with  the efficiency of a successful Baseball manager.  Bill's very encouraging and very supportive.  I remember the first night I played I totally botched "I walk the Line", he just shrugged and stated that it's a hard song with all those key changes.  He gave me a perplexed look when I told him that I'd only picked up a guitar a few times in the last 17 years.  I'm playing next thursday at 1930 at the same location.
